Test Preparation

To be considered for admission into North Georgia, you have to take the SAT and/or ACT at least once and have the scores sent to your colleges of choice. We highly encourage you to take one or both exams as least twice, with at least one test taken in the first semester of your senior year. Both the SAT and ACT are accepted and we do not prefer one over the other. In addition to using the exam scores, along with your high school transcript, for admission decisions, SAT and/or ACT scores may also be a factor in scholarship, financial aid, and loan decisions.

Prepare

It's important to practice for the tests - you'll be better prepared for the real thing. The PLAN and PSAT exams can help. Talk to your counselor about when they are offered.

There are also many Web sites available that offer assistance with preparing for the ACT and/or SAT. To get you started, following are just a few that offer free test preparation.

You have the option of sending your SAT and ACT scores directly to a college or university by indicating a specific numeric code for that particular college or university. The codes for most universities and colleges are provided for you at the time you sign up or take your test. If you'd like to send your score to us, North Georgia College & State University's code is 5497.
